Amen, and amen, and amen... but it's worse than that Clive. I'm basically an SME with a sideline training remit; and had to run a subversive campaign against my IT department who wanted to buy a webconferencing product that was easy for them to service/support, but utterly useless for engaging & interactive learning delivery or our multinational low-bandwidth webconferencing needs. Since then, there are dispersed areas of the organisation running full tilt at elearning in many different ways, and for the central 'corporate l&d' department, supporting, coordinating or providing any overarching policy, pedagogical & systemic architecture for elearning is still (1 year on) 'not a priority'.

le sigh. welcome to enterprise 2.0.
